News to Use from RQ September 21st
Posted by KJCB on September 21, 2017

Hello Everyone,
Did you make time to sew a jelly roll on National Sew a Jelly Roll Day (Septermber 16th)? I finished the project that I shared in last week's newsletter and it's hanging behind the counter at RQ. (I may have sewn a bit before September 16th because I was at work that day :)) Even though the day has passed, we still are celebrating with 16% off all 2 1/2" strips (jelly rolls and treat strips) through the end of the month. Stock up for next year! On to the news...
Featured Future BOM
Graphic Gems BOM by Sarah Maxwell of Sarah J. Designs features two beautiful Primo Batik collections from Marcus Fabrics. The quilt will be available in two colorways: Lapis & Emerald OR Garnet & Sapphire. These programs are similar to the River Rock and Radiant Reflection quilts from 2016 where you receive a 10 1/2" square package each month to complete certain portions of the quilt. The finished size is approximately 76" x 87" and the Graphic Gems BOM is scheduled to begin in March 2018. Sign-up today to reserve your spot!
What's New at RQ
Remember the Ruler Work Panel that we shared two weeks ago in the RQ newsletter? Well, now we have the coordinating yardage available! Meadow Dance by Amanda Murphy for Contempo Fabrics has beautiful and fun prints for spring. The two main floral prints are supported with an amazing number of colorful coordinates. We are offering fabric kits of Amanda Murphy's Meadow Minis program which includes instructions for a quilt-as-you-go project using rulers. You can create a quilt or a series of mini quilts!
Fans of Star Trek, we now have these four novelty pieces available at RQ: Star Trek Galaxy by Camelot Cottons. Take a ride on the U.S.S. Enterprise with Captain Kirk, Spock, and their crew with these vintage Star Trek prints. Great for pillowcases, totes and novelty quilts!
Another collection proving that quilters are always thinking ahead (or should be) to springtime. Wild Bloom by Bari J for Art Gallery Fabrics is now in stock at RQ. The description from Art Gallery explains it well: "A medley of meticulously painted bouquets, tiny ditzy flowers, vases and branches are splashed with exuberant color and are contrasted by sashiko inspired blenders to have you madly in love with Bari’s signature style." We have three coordinating Pure Elements Solids (have you felt these?!?!).
Did You Know?
If you have a military friend or family member (or yourself!) you would like to nominate for a Quilts of Valor quilt, you can visit the QOV website to submit the name. The nominated service person's name is sent to the QOV coordinator in the state that he or she lives to find a quilt and presenter. You can also learn more about the QOV Foundation in general on their website QOVF.org
Happy sewing,
~ K
