Posted by KJCB on September 14, 2017

Hello Everyone,
Today starts the BERNINA Fall Sale at RQ! Receive 25% off BERNINA presser feet purchased through September 18th. Additionally, we have 60 months same as cash financing available for qualifying purchases on new BERNINA machines. Don't forget David has select 7 Series machines in stock and ready to take home this weekend!
I've been sewing binding on a few smaller quilt projects this week that I plan to send down to Houston for distribution to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. If you missed last week's newsletter, we are gathering quilts of (at minimum) baby size that will be distributed to those in need by a willing friend who lives in the Houston metro area. As an elementary school teacher and mother of a toddler, she is well aware of the effect an event like this can have on children. What better way to wrap them in love!?! We will be accepting quilt donations until October 7th and they can be dropped off at any time during RQ's normal hours. Thank you! On to the news...
Quilts of Valor September
Our Quilts of Valor Workshop for September is next Wednesday, September 20th starting at 10 a.m. We will be meeting at Mill House Retreat Center. Please sign-up on the RQ Calendar to let us know that you plan to attend. If you missed last month's gathering, we have information to share regarding our status as an official QOV Quilt Store and our upcoming presentation on Veteran's Day. Hope to see you next week! (Quilt featured above is Among the Stars.)

Did You Know?
Part 2 of the All About Aurifil has been posted on the Auriful Blog. This post includes helpful information about the colorfast-ness of certain thread colors and how they should be laundered. There is also a handy comparison between the always popular 50 wt and 40 wt threads. If you're a fan of Aurifil thread and have a tendency to speed through the large spools, we can special order cones in the 50 wt and 40 wt to keep you stitching longer!
Happy sewing,
~ K
