News to Use from RQ May 30th
Posted by KJCB on May 30, 2019
Please help us spread the word! We will be CLOSED in the store for a physical inventory the week of June 10th, 2019. We will be open regular hours on Saturday, June 8th and will reopen Tuesday, June 18th at 10:00 a.m. The RQ online store will still be "open" and we will be checking phone/email messages daily.
On to the news…
June Block of the Month Meeting This Saturday
This Saturday, June 1st will be our June Block of the Month meeting with doors opening at 9 a.m. We will be handing out the final packages for the Dimensions and Park Plaza BOM quilts. There is fabric remaining from both of these BOMs for those interested in backing or coordinating projects. We also still have both available as a BOM...so it's not too late to start!
In June, we plan to start the Poinsettia Winter BOM (featured above). However, as of this writing on Wednesday we still do not have the fabric and patterns in the store. In store participants: we (most likely) will not have packets ready for you on Saturday, but we will keep you posted. By mail participants and full kit customers: we will send out your packages as soon as the fabric arrives!
BOM Challenge: We realized that we did not share a challenge for June at the May meeting! In an effort to bring some new ideas to our monthly challenges, June's challenge is to submit a challenge idea for future BOM meetings! Write your idea on a piece of paper and turn it in to David to collect your challenge BOM Buck on Saturday morning. We may choose your idea for an upcoming BOM challenge!
Featured Future Block of the Month
Ready for a tropical adventure to Saint Tropez? The newest BOM from Cozy Quilt Designs features Soleil Tonga Batiks by Daniela Stout in shades of blues, yellows, and greens. The finished size is approximately 70" x 83 1/2" The quilt will be available as a seven month BOM or a full kit with an anticipated start date of July/August 2019. See more details and sign-up to reserve yours on the RQ website!
What's New at RQ
Noel Forest by Kanvas Studio brings a modern take to winter quilts with their red, white, and gray palette. Foxes and owls wear winter hats while the deer and squirrels wear scarves to stay warm. The woodland winter scene shines on the 2/3 yard panel while coordinating plaids and a Nordic stripe round out the collection. The pieces are used together to create the Winter Critters Kit (featured above).
We've restocked and added to our inventory of Stonehenge Stars and Stripes by Linda Ludovico and Deborah Edwards for Northcott! These patriotic fabrics were designed in support of the Quilts of Valor Foundation and are perfect for all Americana projects. The Bald Eagle and American Flag panel (above) is digitally printed and new to RQ. Coordinates include stars, stripes, and Stonehenge textures in red, white, and blue. See what is in stock on the RQ website!
Our remaining yardage of 101 Maple Street by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs is now available online and in the store! These small prints in autumn colors are sure to add panache to your next project. If you missed out on the 101 Maple Street BOM, we have one full kit remaining!

Did You Know?
When we traveled to Spring Quilt Market earlier this month, we met with the ladies of the Funky Friends Factory from Australia. You may have seen the photos of Slowpoke the Sloth and Diggles the Dragon on our social media page. However, we failed to mention that we also met the lady who distributes the eyes for our favorite stuffed toys! We'll be carrying a variety of eyes to make your stuffed toys even more life like. As soon as these eyes arrive from Australia we'll be sure to let you know!
