News to Use from RQ May 14th
Posted by KJCB on May 14, 2020
We've been busy this week "putting the store back together" while processing your phone and online orders. During the past few weeks, we haven't been our usual fastidious selves when it comes to placing fabric on shelves or keeping fat quarter baskets tidy...there just wasn't time! Now with the expectation that we will be able to slowly open to in-store shopping within the next few weeks, we've started to put bolts on shelves instead of piled in rolling chairs and catching up on our fat quarter bundles and kits. We're excited to say that many new collections will be on the shelves when you're able to return to shopping inside RQ. The collections featured in this week's "What's New" section below are all bolts that are now on the shelf in the store for the first time..even if they aren't necessarily newly released. Enjoy the second look!
This week's TBT collection is Charleston by Revive for Timeless Treasures. This collection features many prints with gold metallic creating a retro feel. Follow this link to the "Throwback Thursday" Sale page on the RQ website for all the details! On to the news....
Curbside Pick-Up and In Store Shopping Update
We are continuing to offer curbside pickup for online and phone orders. This service is available Tuesday - Friday between the hours of 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Please remember to wait for an email that lets you know your order is ready for pickup before arriving at RQ. You can read all the details about curbside pickup in last week's News to Use.
Planning for the re-opening of the shop to instore customers is a series of decisions requiring much deliberation and thought. Our first priority is to ensure the health and safety of our staff, their families, and our customers while following the experts' guidelines on mitigating the spread of COVID-19. This priority will take precedent over all others for the foreseeable future. As stated last week, we will continue curbside pickup through AT LEAST May 19th. We hope to provide you with more information about our strategy to reopen in next week's News to Use.
Mill House Retreat Center will remain closed through June 30th. Thank you for your continued understanding and support during this transitional time.
Trade In, Trade Up with BERNINA
The Trade In, Trade Up Sale is in full swing during the month of May! Special financing is available on qualifying purchases through May 19th. Give David a call or email to talk about pricing and financing. Remember that all new BERNINA machine purchases receive in-person Mastery Classes once our storefront reopens.
What's New at RQ - Worth a Second Look Version :)
Field Day by Kelly Ventura for Windham Fabrics features fun and floral for spring! The florals are great for large focal squares in quilts or for use in garments. The tiny florals and geometrics are so versatile you can use them in any project. Grab one of the coordinating Palette colors for that bit of "solid" that you need in your Field Day project. We are still kitting Zen Garden which you can see on the RQ website.
Blue Crush by August Wren for Dear Stella Fabrics is a study in blues. An interesting array of prints include florals, birds, and cats as well as a stripe and a house print. These pieces have amazing detail and a watercolor-esque feel. Be sure to check out the Fur and Feathers Kit using these fabrics.
The Art Gallery Fabric Clearance Is Down to the End...
We're down to the last 100 bolts or so of Art Gallery Fabric prints available for purchase at a fantastic reduced price! This is a great opportunity to re-supply that stash you've been sewing through or to purchase backings for all the quilt tops you're finishing. Remember we'll always contact you before shipping if we do not have exactly what you ordered (unless you tell us in the Notes Section of your order to send what we have). First come, first served and some bolts are down to the last yard or two so don't wait to order yours!
You can follow the links (in blue) or follow the steps in the photo below (when shopping from a PC) to find all the Art Galllery prints in one place.
All scheduled classes have been cancelled or postponed through May. We will contact students who have paid for upcoming classes once we are able to begin rescheduling. Thank you for your understanding!
Did You Know?
HoopSisters has released this year's Mystery Quilt early! This machine embroidery project started last week; however, you can still join in. Choose your own fabrics and threads to make the project your own. HoopSisters offer file formats for many brands of machines and block sizes for many hoops. This is only available as a direct download through HoopSisters' website but you can choose RQ as your local shop to let them know we're supporting their project!
