News to Use from RQ January 31st
Posted by KJCB on January 31, 2019
We were closed yesterday, January 30th due to the bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills. We will be back open Thursday, January 31st and are looking forward to some warmer temperatures coming next week. Orders that came in while we were closed will be processed as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience! On to the news...
Amanda Murphy 2019 Events: Supply Lists, Wait Lists, and More!
Are you excited yet?!?!? We're only five weeks away from our event with Amanda Murphy! We are down to the last available seats for her classes in March. As of Wednesday night, we have two seats remaining in the Friday class, Circle Rulers: My Favorite Quilting Tool. Free-Motion Quilting: Developing Your Style and Ruler Round-About currently are on a wait-list. Sign-up online or call RQ to snag one of the last remaining seats!
Payment: Please remember that the balance on your class fee(s) is due by 5:00 p.m. February 22nd, 2019. If you have not paid your balance by this time, we will move to a student on the wait-list. You may stop in at RQ anytime before this date to pay your remaining balance or call with a credit card number. For those who signed-up via the RQ website, your balance will automatically be billed to your credit card on February 1st.
Supply Lists: The supply lists are now available to download from the RQ website here. We will have items on the supply list available for purchase in the weeks leading up to Amanda's classes. Please email email@example.com with questions or to reserve a specific item on the supply lists. Discounts will be available on select products during the weekend event as well.
February Block of the Month Meeting CANCELLED
We will NOT be having our regularly scheduled BOM meeting this Saturday, February 2nd. RQ will be open our regular hours of 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and you can pick up your blocks anytime on or after February 2nd. We've made the decision to cancel the BOM meeting due to the chance of freezing drizzle and fog in the area on Saturday morning. The weather combined with a back parking lot covered in ice that won't melt before Saturday morning have us concerned about your safety and we'd rather play it safe! Every in store BOM participant will receive a BOM Buck in their monthly package automatically and can earn another BOM Buck when they pick up their blocks if their January blocks are done.
A few BOM notes...
Amish with a Twist IV: We've had an AMAZING response to this program! We are currently waiting on additional fabrics and pattern booklets to arrive this week so that we can process your orders. Also, we have heard from Marcus that they received a shipment of Amish with a Twist Backing early, so we should be able to fill those orders sooner than expected!
Mrs. Miller's Apprentice: You will find in your month 2 package (most shipping in February), that Pam Buda uses the 4 1/2" 45° Easy Angle Ruler to make her Cat's Cradle blocks. We did not include the price of the ruler in your BOM program as many may already have it or something similar. If you need this tool to be included with your month 2 block, please send us an email via firstname.lastname@example.org to have it added to your package. The cost is $7.10.
Fleur de Lis EBOM: You can come anytime Saturday (or after) to have your USB stick loaded with this month's designs. If you're interested in the EBOM Sit and Sews for February, please contact Kyla via email: email@example.com
What's New at RQ
Add some warmth and color to your next project with Spring Theory! This debut collection by August Wren for Dear Stella Designs exudes spring colors. Floral prints in multiple sizes are combined with flirty butterflies, a watercolor, a colorful stripe, and funky polka dots in this group. We have two kits available using Spring Theory including Memory Lane (featured above) by our friend Denniele Bohannon and the Flower Patch Kit.
With our recent focus on spring florals, we're revisiting Marcella by Sue Zipkin for Clothworks. A unique color combination of purples and greens are used in Marcella and are worth another look! There are only 16 skus in this collection so grab a fat quarter bundle for a piece of each print.
Ah Chez Moi...it isn't spring at RQ until we pull out the new spring collection from Chez Moi and Moda Fabrics. This year's group is called Coco and features the traditional shades of yellow, pink, purple, blue, and green in watercolor-esque prints. We have yardage, fat quarters, jelly rolls, charm packs, and layer cakes available.
