News to Use from RQ January 3rd
Posted by KJCB on January 03, 2019
Welcome to 2019! We hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season and is ready to get their sewing on in 2019. It's hard to believe that we are only two months away from our Amanda Murphy quilting event at the beginning of March! We have had great interest in the event and are looking forward to hosting Amanda. If you're still interested in one or more of Amanda's classes, don't delay in reserving your seat as the number of students in each class is limited. More details below! On to the news...
January Block of the Month Meeting
This Saturday, January 5th is our first BOM Meeting of 2019 with doors opening at 9 a.m. We will have four new BOM projects starting including: Mrs. Miller's Apprentice (featured above), Amish with a Twist IV, Park Plaza, and Fleur de Lis EBOM. These projects all still have space available if your New Year's Resolution was to try a BOM in 2019!
Remember to bring your completed BOM blocks from December as well as your AllPeople Quilt UFO 2019 Challenge Sheet (with this year's UFOs listed) to earn your BOM Bucks from David! You can find the AllPeole Quilt UFO Sheet here and it's not too late to join.

What's New at RQ
Soft and Sweet Flannels by Stacy Iest Hsu for Moda Fabrics are now at RQ. These "nursery" themed prints are perfect for baby quilt backs and baby decor. The six prints include yellow ducks, hearts, lions, stars, spaceships, and curlicues. In addition to the yardage, we have three coordinating Junior Layer Cakes in Pink, Blue, and Yellow/Grey.
Silkroad is our newest Fusions collection by AGF Studio for Art Gallery Fabrics. Black, white, gray, and red prints with an Asian inspiration are all found in this group. Florals and geometrics are combined for an interesting feel. Take a look at the Shoji Kit featuring these prints for further inspiration!
Gradients II by Moda Fabrics is a digitally printed collection in contrasts. Choose from the "onyx" neutrals or brightly colored watercolors. The digital printing allows for amazing detail and shading across the width of the fabric. Combine these prints with those from the first Gradients collection including the patterns found in the Daydreams Book.

Just like the regular width fabrics, the prints and colors available change throughout the year. Batiks, flannels, muslins, and prints are all options in extra wides now!
