News to Use from RQ August 9th
Posted by KJCB on August 08, 2018
We have lots of news in this week's email so be sure to read all the way to the end. First up, we're having a Modern Quilting event this Saturday, August 11th with our friends Heather Givans and David Barnhouse of Crimson Tate at Mill House Retreat Center! Read below for more details.
Many thanks to those who donated school supplies at last week's Block of the Month meeting. We are so thankful for the generosity of our BOM Participants that help us support our community schools! You are amazing!
We are sad to announce that this week is the last week at Rossville Quilts for our Customer Service Manager, Allison. Many of you have developed strong relationships with her and we know that you will miss her almost as much as we will. She has taken another opportunity near by and we hope that she will be dropping in to visit often. Allison will grace any job she takes with her personality, work ethic, and knowledge. We wish her the best.
On to the news...

RQ Turns 10: Beautiful Blooming Batik Bash in August
This month we're featuring one of my personal favorites...Batiks! Darks, lights, brights, neutrals, solids, and prints can all be found in batiks. These hand-dyed beauties often feature amazing shading and depth not found in cotton prints. Visit the Batik Category on the RQ website to see the collections that we have available. Sale includes in-stock batik yardage with 1/2 yard minimum cuts. This sale excludes any out of stock or preorder item as well as batiks that are in current/future BOM programs. Spa Day Tonga Batiks by Daniela Stout for Timeless Treasures featured above.
Dates to Remember in August: Friday, August 10th will be 10% off most all items in store and online. No coupon code necessary. No RQ 10th Anniversary Bag required.
This month's RQ 10th Anniversary Canvas Tote Bag Day will be Wednesday, August 22nd when you can receive 10% off your purchase in store with your RQ Bag!
What's New at RQ
Words to Live By is now available at RQ! This lovely collection by Cherry Guidry for Contempo features a panel with "words of love" that are cut apart and used in the Live By Love Kit (seen above). We also have Strip-pies (2 1/2" x wof strips) in this group with deep reds, aquas, yellows, and grays. Order yours today, stock is limited!
Next up is a sweet nursery collection: You're All My Favorites by Anita Jeram for Clothworks. A family of bears have some "furry" fun on light blue, yellow, and green fabric backgrounds. Add in a crescent moon or polka dot coordinate to round out your project. Two separate kits are available using the You're All My Favorites fabric.
Here's a fun winter collection that missed it's turn in the spotlight during July: Let it Snow by Cherry Guidry for Contempo. The centerpiece of Let it Snow is the jaunty snowman panel as seen above. The traditional red of the holidays is mixed with grays and lime green for a unique combination. Not a panel person? Check out the Merry! Kit that makes holiday packages from a 10" square pack.

Did You Know?
Local quilter Heather Winger designed the Indiana block for a special Country Living magazine issue! They are celebrating their 40th Anniversary and decided to make a collaborative quilt with 50 blocks—one made by a quilter in each state. Her block is the Indiana puzzle (3rd row down, 2nd from the left two toned teal fabrics next to the letter C) The September 2018 issue featuring this quilt including Heather's block is available now. Congrats to Heather, a job well done!
