News to Use from RQ August 1st
Posted by KJCB on August 01, 2019
We're down to the last few Firecracker Sale orders to ship out! You all kept us busy this week and hopefully added some beautiful new fabrics to your stash. Add the Firecracker Sale to your calendar for 2020, when we run it, it always starts in July. :)
Since tomorrow is the 1st of August (yes, already), we'll have the Customer of the Month winners for July in next week's newsletter. Four lucky shoppers will receive a $25.00 shopping spree to RQ! On to the news...
August Block of the Month Meeting
This Saturday, August 3rd is our next Block of the Month meeting with doors opening at 9:00 a.m. This month's BOM challenge is to bring school supplies which will be donated locally. We've done this the past few years and the school has always been appreciative! School starts August 5th so the timing is perfect.
At the August meeting, we will be starting the Botanica Park program (featured above) by Wing and a Prayer Designs. Snowman Sampler BOM month 2 (and month 1 if you haven't picked yours up) will be available on Saturday as well. We have two programs ending in August: Widsom and Stargazing Aged Muslins. We will have remaining yardages available for purchase on Saturday. If you missed out on either of these two projects, we can still take sign-ups for BOM or full kits!
Featured Future BOM
We're now taking sign-ups for Hill Country Heritage the new BOM from Paula Barnes and Mary Ellen Robison of Red Crinoline Quilts featuring fabrics by Paula Barnes for Marcus Fabrics. The finished quilt is approximately 86" x 89." The 12-month program is anticipated to begin in January 2020. This program also has a coordinating 108" wide backing available for preorder. Take a look today!
What's New at RQ
Have you taken a vacation to the shore this summer? What better way to recreate that memory than with the Sunset Sail panel by Timeless Treasures! The beautiful panel is supported with a watery print and a cloudy sky as well as the Azure Solid-ish Basic. Use the pieces together to create the Tranquility Wall Hanging Quilt (featured above) or add your own coordinates to make it your own.
Songbook: Ballgame by Laura Berringer for Marcus Fabrics has arrived at RQ. This baseball themed collection takes inspiration from the classic song "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." Sketched overlapping baseballs, chain link fencing, a text print, and baseball stitch stripe are available in multiple colors. This one won't be around long and arrived just in time for the upcoming MLB post-season!
This beauty just arrived at RQ and had us drooling at the cutting table! Floral Study by Alice Kennedy for Timeless Treasures is a digitally printed collection with amazing detail. The prints are supported by Blush and Rose colored Solid-ish Basics in the Garden View Kit designed by Pine Tree Country Quilts.

Did You Know?
There really is a method to the madness that is how fabric bolts are shelved at RQ. We frequently have customers that may choose a bolt and then decide they don't want that particular piece (happens all the time, you're allowed to change your mind!). We ask that you return it to one of the cutting tables or one of the RQ employees so that we can reshelve it. With so many bolts (allover the store), it can often take quite awhile to find a "missing" bolt that has been put back on the wrong shelf. We're happy to help return a bolt to it's proper home (assuming you don't need it at your home) so that we can find it again quickly in the future!
