Happy birthday to RQ! Yes, it's finally here. Do you think it's hard to believe we have now been open 10 years? Time flies when you're having SEW much fun! Come celebrate with us each month through the next 12 months. During our birthday year, buy 10 of any product and your 11th is FREE! (instore only) Additionally, on the 10th of each month (or closest day that we are open) you can receive 10% off your ENTIRE purchase of in stock items (exclusions may apply). Check back each month to find out what is happening at RQ to celebrate our 10th Birthday and look for our monthly specials. Thank you for your support in keeping us going for 10 years! On to the news...
November Block of the Month
This Saturday, November 4th is our next BOM meeting at RQ. It is also the second BOM Blast Sale for 2017 where BOM members can spend their BOM Bucks like cash on specific items! Remember that this means we will not be doing show and tell; however, you can still bring an item to earn one last BOM Buck. This month's challege is to bring canned goods to be donated to our local food pantry so you can earn one more BOM Buck for bringing a donation!
We will be starting the Floral Menagerie BOM (featured above) this month which features bright colors and large animal appliques. Currently, we have one space left in this project; however, we will be starting a wait list for availability if more are interested.
RQ Turns 10 Celebration Kickoff!
In addition to this Saturday being BOM, we will also be kicking off the RQ 10th Birthday Celebration! BOM members will receive a FREE RQ birthday gift (must be in store by 9:15 a.m. and must have paid the $10.00 sign-up fee for a current or future BOM program). Birthday cupcakes and coffee will be available while supplies last on Saturday!
November is Jaybird Quilts month at RQ and we have an Alphabet Soup Trunk Show set up in the classroom for all to see. Jaybird rulers, patterns, and books will be 10% off in store and online throughout the month of November. We will be adding a couple Jaybird-themed classes to the RQ Calender for November as well.
What's New at RQ
The spring flowers just keep coming despite the cold weather in Indiana! Garden Sanctuary by Rae Ritchie for Dear Stella features garden themed prints in shades of purple and green. From garden scenes to the elegant foxgloves and hedgehogs to gardening tools, your spring time prints are found in this collection. Two scallop dot basics by Rae Ritchie round out this group.
Oops a Daisy by The Kanvas Studio makes me think of spring picnics. These beautiful daisy prints are combined with a yellow and black gingham print that would make wonderful picnic throws, tablecloths, aprons, or tote bags. Also included in this collection is a daisy border stripe that would finish off a quilt top or make a fun table runner!
Favorite Sunday morning breakfast? Biscuits and Gravy, of course! BasicGrey's newest collection by the same name is reminiscent of a past favorite - PB and J. In addition to the yardage pieces and coordinating Grunges, we have the alphabet square panel and precuts available. The Dishes Kit (featured above) combines a Biscuits and Gravy Layer Cake with yardage to make this interesting arc block.
Future Collections Coming 2018
We promised a sneak peak of future collections coming to RQ after Fall Quilt Market so here it is! They aren't quite ready for pre-order, but they will be coming to RQ in the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2018 and will be online soon. We chose a few exciting Moda collections to share this week, but this is not all of the new market collections by any means! Top Left picture: Pepper and Flax by Corey Yoder. Top Right picture: Regency Blues by Christopher Wilson-Tate (new designer!). Bottom Left picture: Swell Christmas by Urban Chiks. Bottom Right picture: Into the Garden BOM featuring Evelyn's Homestead fabrics by Betsy Chutchian and pattern by Bits 'n Pieces.
Two more sneak peeks:
Top picture featuring Vintage Holiday by Bonnie and Camille..their long awaited holiday collection with a variety of kits and three silver metallic prints!
Bottom picture featuring Color Cuts by Moda in 10" squares and 5" by WOF strips. Bundles of color with prints from spring collections with color names such as: Daybreak, Beach Glass, Sprouts, Lemon Drop, Sugar on Top, and Roadtrip.
Did You Know?
The traditional gift to give for a 10th anniversary is tin or aluminum. (Who decides these?) The modern gift list says diamond. Hmmmm, which to choose? I'm usually traditional, and since tin and aluminum stand for strength yet flexibility, that works for me!
