News to Use from RQ July 6th
Posted by KJCB on July 10, 2017
How are your UFO projects coming along? If you are participating in the All People Quilt UFO challenge, you should now know that July 1st brought us Project 1 in your list. What is yours? Are you up to the challenge? Mine is a tablerunner I've been wanting to try. I've had the pattern and the fabrics picked out for about two years and haven't started it yet. I guess now is the time! (I'm not sure it should be counted as an UN-finished project since it isn't technically started yet!)
We missed you BOM participants last week since we gave you July off from our monthly meeting to enjoy a long holiday weekend if you were able. Don't forget to come and pick up your block packets. Or we can mail them to you if you call and ask us to. Stay current with your monthly packets and earn lots of BOMBs to spend at our next blast! We have many new exciting projects starting in the second half of the year. Sign up soon if you are interested as some of them are very popular and we want to be sure to have enough fabric and patterns for everyone. Our August challenge is to bring school supplies which we then donate to the local elementary. The teachers love having a "stash" they can use in case a child is without something that is needed.
On to the news...
BERNINA Foot of the Month July
Interested in learning more about the couching feet that are on special this month? Visit this link on BERNINA's website and then scroll down to the foot you are interested in learning about. There are informational videos and examples of how the feet can be used. (Not all couching feet seen above will be in stock at RQ; however, making a purchase during the month of July will guarantee the discounted price.)
What's New at RQ
Ah, romance...True Love Tonga Batiks by Daniela Stout for Timeless Treasures are now at RQ. If you missed out on last year's Romance Tonga collection or just love the aqua and brown color combination, then this is the group for you! In addition to yardage, we have pattern support in the form of three different kits using the Treat Strip Jr. packs.
Eat, Drink, and Be Scary indeed! It's time to work on those Halloween projects (because I always need just one more) before October rolls around. Eerily Elegant by Deb Strain for Moda Fabrics brings some class to the spookiest holiday of the year. The panel (shown above) features six squares and three quilt labels. Coordinates include spiders, spiderwebs, and bats. Jelly rolls, layer cakes, and charm packs will be arriving soon!
Winnie the Pooh Refresh by Disney for Camelot Cottons brings a classic character back to cotton. Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too are now at RQ and ready to be crafted into a gift for your loved one (Eeyore should arrive soon!). Soft shades of yellow and white are perfect for both boys and girls.
Did You Know?
We will be celebrating a very exciting milestone in November 2017. RQ will be 10 years old! Can you believe it has been 10 years already?!?! We are looking forward to a whole year of special events, visitors, surprises, and yes, probably a few sales too. :) Be sure to keep an eye out for more details emerging early autumn so you can plan to attend RQ's birthday celebrations.
